We are a family of four in Southern California. We have two kids at home, Jafta (3), and India (1). We are thrilled to be adopting again and can't wait to bring Keanan home. You can visit our family blog here.
About Keanan
Keanan lives at Maranatha orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. We visited there in the spring of 2007 and he stole our hearts. We came home and prayed, and decided that he needed to be a permenant part of our family. We then began what is know as the "paper chase" - we scurried to gather every document known to man to send to Haiti. That dossier of paperwork arrived in Haiti in September 2007, and now we wait. We have heard it can take anywhere from 12-24 months.
Keanan turned one on October 7, 2007. He and our daughter India share a birthdate.
Please pray that the government of Haiti will approve our paperwork and allow us to adopt him. Adoptions in Haiti take a very long time. He will likely be coming home in 2009.
How can i help?
We would love your support with our adoption process. There are three specific ways you can help:
1. Pray. Pray that his paperwork would move so we can bring him home. 2. Do you have extra airline miles? Donate them to us so we can visit him! Any airline miles would help - the most expensive leg is getting to Miami. If you have extra miles, please email us. 3. Donate to our adoption fund to help pay down our adoption debt of $10,000. Every bit helps. You can donate by credit card using the button below.
